About
The fiscal year (July-Jun) report dashboard shows sponsored award data from the University of Cincinnati. The data shown is capped at the end of each fiscal year for consistent reporting purposes and may not reflect the "live" data.
(For those reports, please see our Sponsored Research Activity Dashboard)
Note: The data is aggregated using award amounts obligated to every investigator on a given project (i.e. the sum of PI and Co-I credited amounts).
How to Use
Toolbar
The toolbar contains buttons that interact with the report:
- Excel - extracts the currently selected year's underlying data, with the applied filters, and exports to a spreadsheet format. (Note: this will extract only data for the selected year, not all three
years)
- PDF - shows the PDF export dialog. In the dialog, simply press "Generate" to export the current view to a printable PDF.
- Reset - resets all filters (Fiscal Year, College, Department, Name, and Sponsor) to their original values.
- View - selects the report view to be shown (Overview or Yearly Growth). See below for more details regarding each view.
At the top of each view, there are controls for filtering the data:
- Fiscal Year - filters the data for a specific fiscal year (July-Jun).
- College - filters the data for specific college(s).
- Department - filters the data for specific department(s).
- Name - filters the data for specific investigator(s)
- Sponsor - filters the data for specific sponsor(s)
View: Overview
This view shows overview award data for the currently selected fiscal year. You may filter this data by Fiscal Year, College, Department, Name of Investigator, and/or Sponsor by using the aforementioned filter options in the Toolbar.
The two donut charts show the award data broken down by Activity Type and Funding Source categories, respectively. Selecting a section on either of these charts will filter the entire view for that specific value (i.e. selecting the
red Research section on the Activity Type chart will filter the data for awards that are categorized as "Research")
The bottom chart shows the data broken down by Funding Source within each Activity Type. Changing the value of the first column (using the dropdown in the column header) to Funding Source will show the data broken down by
Activity Type within each Funding Source.
View: Yearly Growth
This view shows a comparison of the currently selected year and the prior two years. You may filter this data by Fiscal Year, College, Department, Name of Investigator, and/or Sponsor by using the aforementioned filter options in the
Toolbar.
The top Activity Type section shows a three year comparison of the data in terms of Activity Type. The percent change field represents the change in award amount ($) in a year-over-year fashion. The small expand icon (black arrows)
to the right of this section will show a larger view of this data. On the following expanded view, simply click on the close icon (inverted black arrows) to return to the original Yearly Compare view.
The bottom Funding Source section shows a three year comparison of the data in terms of the overall funding source. The percent change field represents the change in award amount ($) in a year-over-year fashion. The small expand icon
(black arrows) to the right of this section will show a larger view of this data as well as display the funding source sponsor hierarchy. On the following expanded view, simply click on the close icon (inverted black arrows) to
return to the original Yearly Compare view.
